About Jan Stijačić

Jan is a founding partner of Stijačić Šoštarić. He advises Croatian and international clients on corporate and commercial matters, with a focus on M&A, project development, intellectual property and disputes.

Jan has extensive experience advising private equity and venture capital funds on their investments and acquisitions. His intellectual property work centres on trademark protection, licensing and the transfer of IP rights.

In real estate, Jan works with investors and developers on large-scale development projects from land acquisition and property due diligence through to completion. His work covers project structuring, construction contracts, land registry and permitting matters, as well as leasing, sales and property management.

Jan has an extensive experience in representing clients in commercial and corporate disputes before the Croatian courts and in administrative proceedings. He prepares each case in detail and adapts his strategy as proceedings unfold.

Jan brings a strong grounding in EU law to his work, helping clients navigate the European regulatory framework that shapes cross-border transactions, investments and disputes. He specialised in the field at Universidad CEU San Pablo in Madrid and is completing a postgraduate specialist degree in European law at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law.
